Somerville School seeks to give students a sound education in the fullest sense of the term. FACTS
The school was established in 1974 at 26 Ferozeshah Road, New Delhi, and in 1995, it shifted to the present premises. The School is managed by the Lott Carey Baptist Mission in India. The Lott Carey Baptist Mission in India is affiliated to the Lott Carey Baptist Foreign Mission Convention, U.S.A.

The school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education. The medium of instruction is English and the Second Language for all classes in Hindi. The syllabus for classes I to VIII is according to the guidelines laid down by the NCERT. Physical Education and work experience are an essential part of the curriculum. Sanskrit is taught as the third language in classes VI to VIII. Computer Science is a compulsory subject for Classes III to IX. Art and Craft, Music, Dance, Elocution, Yoga and Gymnastics are also taught. For Classes IX to XII the syllabus prescribed by the CBSE is followed.

The library and flexible center are open from 8.00am till 5.00pm for student and staff use. There is a computerized catalogue to assist with finding material together with a wide range of resources, including computers, CD / DVD's and talking books (cassette tapes). The school has fully equipped Senior and Junior Computer laboratories with updated internet facilities. Various workshops are also conducted for the students in order to facilitate learning and to give them a platform to interact with the resource persons and amongst themselves. Trips and tours are arranged by the School with the purpose of providing educational experience as well as entertainment.
